Cranberry Apple Sauce

While we may be crazy for all things pumpkin, (here’s looking at you, Pumpkin Scones) nothing really holds a candle to the flavors of Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is something so homey about certain tastes, flavors and foods, and when we think Thanksgiving, we think cranberries. A quality cranberry sauce pairs well with anything- meats, veggies, on a warm roll, or even straight off the spoon. A lot goes into a good cranberry recipe, since their natural flavor is quite tart. However, that poses a problem: how do we plan to sweeten our cranberry recipe in a natural way, without added artificial sugar, while still making this delicious? Thus, the Cranberry Apple Sauce recipe was born. Are we cranberry pioneers? Maybe.

Honestly, after doing our research on cranberries, and learning about all the benefits they have to offer, we are going to be incorporating these into our diets year round. They may only be associated with holiday foods, but they have some many incredible benefits and they should be a go-to for our well balanced diets.

For this recipe, our key ingredient is: Cranberries

Here’s why we care about this recipe:

  • LADIES. Ladies only… UTIs are unfortunately common, and sometimes they cannot be prevented. However, a great home solution is a wonderful remedy and preventive measure for this infection. They have high antioxidant properties, and keeps the bacteria which causes the infection at bay. 2 or 3 glasses of fresh cranberry juice should do the trick!
  • No one likes dental visits, and cranberries may be your new berry of choice if you especially are not a dentist fan. Cranberries fight against gum disease, plaque and cavity formation.
  • Cranberries are an antioxidant which means they will serve you in a number of broad ways. They slow tumor grow, health fight against certain types of cancers, and also fight against ulcers.
  • Piggy backing on the antioxidant point, they will also slow down the aging process due to their antioxidant properties. They will flush out toxins and free radicals, giving your body a flush which results in luminous skin. Which, obviously, is something we are all about.
  • Cranberries are bursting with Vitamin C, which is another positive contributing factor to flawless skin. Research also shows that they help fight against acne if you have oily skin, due to their antiseptic properties. They are sometimes used as an ingredient in face masks for this reason.
