Savory Spiced Nuts

If sweets aren’t your thing, we want to make one thing clear: we do not understand you. However, we do want to still cater to your tastes, and bring you a holiday snack with a savoy twist. This recipe can also be whatever your heart desires. If you want to use all almonds in this recipe, go crazy. If you want to use all cashews and 4 or 5 little runty peanuts, have at it. The beauty of this recipe is that it is not only simple and quick, but customizable. We also recommend using this recipe as a homemade gift idea. Make a few batches and you can distribute this mix to friends, family, neighbors and strangers!

Savory Spiced Nuts


  • 4 cups raw nuts (we like to use 1 cup almonds, 1 cup walnuts, 1 cup cashews and 1 cup pecan halves)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon rosemary


  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together nuts, olive oil, maple syrup, salt, cayenne, oregano, thyme and rosemary until nuts are evenly coated.
  3. Arrange nuts on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Stir halfway through cooking time to prevent burning. Remove from oven and cool completely.
