We are lovers of all things saucy. We admit: meal prepping can feel so repetitive, especially when you are recycling the same healthy protein options week by week. Our solution to this is simple: sauces. Sauces for dunking, coating, drizzling, enjoying and taking our meals to the next level.
For this recipe, our key ingredient is: Jalapenos
Here;s why we care about this recipe:
- One really interesting benefit to jalapenos is their healing properties. They contain something called capsaicin, which is a chili pepper extract. They are used to control migraine pain and other nerve pains.
- The capsaicin in jalapenos is also linked to metabolism boosting. Studies have found that they can increase your metabolism by 4% to 5% daily, which means they will naturally promote weight loss.
- Is capsaicin basically magic? It sounds like it. This alkaloid is also found to promote internal stomach healing, fighting against ulcers, both healing them and preventing them.
- Yep– it’s magic. It also has been linked to the prevention of cancer. Chinese doctors used it as a way to treat breast cancer, and it was shown that it hindered the growth of the cancer. Honestly, we may just starting eating a jalapeno a day, or better yet, make this sauce instead.
