Kale and Mozzarella Chicken Burgers

We fell head over heels for our Sundried Tomato Turkey Burgers, and wanted to create a similar recipe using chicken. But throw in the holy grail of ingredients… CHEESE. We may be protein lovers, but above all, our hearts belong to cheese. What better way to celebrate ooey gooey goodness than pack it in a protein patty?

Kale and Mozzarella Chicken Burgers

Servings: 4
Calories: 180kcal


  • 1 lbs ground chicken
  • 1/3 cup kale, finely chopped (we used baby kale)
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper


  • Preheat grill or grill pan to medium heat.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, kale, mozzarella, shallot and garlic. Add in basil, salt and pepper. Mix ingredients until fully combined.
  • Form mixture into four patties. Grill the burgers until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes per side.
