Happy Hour starts NOW! No matter the day. That is basically the theme of Quarantine, right? We definitely are missing the days of meeting girl friends at the bar for drinks and socializing, and we REALLY miss margaritas. We think a good marg is the official drink of Arizona, and the official drink of spring. Although, to be honest, we enjoy a good margarita any time of year. This Skinny Citrus Margarita is the first alcoholic recipe we have created and are SO EXCITED to share this one with you!
We used to be dedicated to all things Tito’s but as we have grown older and wiser (and more prone to nasty hangovers) we have converted. We are tequila people now. Costco actually has a really solid Kirkland brand tequila if you are looking for an inexpensive recommendation, although there are SO many great tequila options!

Skinny Citrus Margarita
Ingredients
- 4 ounces tequila
- 2 ounces triple sec
- 3 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (~3-5 medium limes)
- 2 ounces freshly squeezed orange juice (~1-2 large oranges)
- 2 ounces freshly squeezed grapefruit juice (~1/2-1 large grapefruit)
- 1 teaspoon agave nectar
- Splash of sparkling water
- Kosher salt (for serving)
- Lime or orange wedge (for serving)
Instructions
- Run a wedge of lime or orange across the top of 2 glasses and coat the rim in salt.
- Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, orange juice, grapefruit juice and agave into a cocktail shaker with a few ice cubes. Shake for 30 seconds and then strain the margaritas into salted glasses with ice. Top each with a splash of sparkling water in each glass and serve immediately.
