Spicy Avocado Green Sauce

We are lovers of all things saucy. We admit: meal prepping can feel so repetitive, especially when you are recycling the same healthy protein options week by week. Our solution to this is simple: sauces. Sauces for dunking, coating, drizzling, enjoying and taking our meals to the next level.

Vegan Kale Caesar Salad

Kale is the ugly step duckling of the vegetable world. It quite literally looks ugly, given the bumpy look of the leaf. It also had a terrible reputation until people seemed to learn how to prepare it, starting in about 2014. Over the years, kale has made great strides, and we are pleased to see it on more and more menus. When prepared right, it has great texture and incredible health benefits.

Crunchy Cookie Dough Cups

Coming at you with a recipe that you will need to keep in your fridge or freezer at all times. Crunchy Cookie Dough Cups are our obsession because not only could we eat cookie dough every day, but the crunch takes these to the next level. We recipe tested this four times to make sure it was just perfect, and have made it multiple times ever since, because we cannot get enough!  Continue reading

Sun-Dried Tomato Turkey Burgers

Today’s recipe is essentially a scrumptious ode to our girl, Gaby Dalkin– the genius angel behind Whats Gaby Cooking. We got her cookbook a few months ago (and met her in person…. and freaked out over it). This recipe jumped out to us immediately, so we decided to give it a slight twist and make it our own. The recipe is only available in her cookbook, but you can find our version below! We made the balsamic onions she had in her book as a side as well, which offered the perfect flavor combination with the patty. Our version has more sun-dried tomatoes and spinach than her recipe, and we omitted the parmesan cheese. Stalk her online, ogle over her perfect food blog and then make this recipe. In that order. Lemon Blueberry Loaf

What is it about a warm, moist (sorry, sensitive readers) loaf in the morning that just screams comfort? When it is packed with juicy blueberries and lemon zest, it is game over. It is perfection. Seriously, trust us, we are amateur food bloggers. This recipe is so easy, and we cannot seem to stop making it! Is making it three times in one week excessive? Try this recipe for yourself to find out.

Slow Cooker Chipotle Shredded Chicken

Here’s a little brain teaser for you: what are two things we love deary and do everything in our power to seek? Convenience, and chipotle sauce. Seriously, we are all about convenient recipes. Having easy recipes ensures we can constantly switch up our meal prep, yet ensures we actually stick to a healthy eating routine. As an added bonus, we love when something is versatile, so we do not get tired of eating it throughout the week.

Healthy Homemade Twix

Hi, friends! It has been two weeks too long since our last post, so we had to get a little wild with this week’s recipe. Due to (tragic) recent developments (a food allergy test) A Healthy Hint is officially fully gluten free, as both Amanda and Christina are allergic to wheat. We always joke that we are the same person, and it appears that our bodies have decided to make that a full reality. That said, this week’s recipe is not only delicious, but highlights one of our favorite gluten free flours. We present to you: Healthy Homemade Twix. Yes, candy lovers, you read that right.  Continue reading

High Fiber Overnight Hemp Hearts

What the HECK is a hemp heart? We found ourselves asking this very question after seeing this ingredient online, and figured it was a distinct possibility that other people were asking this same question. We also felt like creating an “overnight oat” recipe without the oats, for those watching their carb intake. These two thoughts combined allowed us to create this unique recipe, and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! Continue reading

Paleo Chicken Tenders

Chicken nugget lovers, REJOICE. It’s no secret that we love food, and when that food is a childhood staple like a nug, we can’t help but love those, too. Did any one ever eat a Dino Chicken Nugget as a kid? The 90s moms we knew definitely had a box of these in the freezer at all times. There is something so satisfying about nuggets, but when it comes to their nutritional value, they are a little less appealing considering they are usually deep fried and made of processed ingredients. Not to worry– we are serving up a paleo chicken tender made from real ingredients while still being incredibly delicious and satisfying.

Gluten Free Lemon Ice Cream Bars

When it comes to the dessert category, which we both consider ourselves to be professionals in, we are normally drawn to any sort of chocolatey treat. But with that being said, there are rarely any desserts we turn down. We grew up thinking lemon bars were a more sophisticated dessert that only adults enjoy. Well, now that we are “adults” we have found ourselves to really enjoy them! There is something to be said about the sour and sweet combination that hits taste buds that we didn’t even know existed. We decided to take the sophistication of a classic lemon bar and combined it with a child-like ice cream bar to create Gluten Free Lemon Ice Cream Bars. Let us tell you, these are unlike any lemon bar you have ever had!
