Banana Chia Seed Pudding

Chia seeds are one of our favorite add-ins for a lot of our recipes, since they can be sprinkled on top, blended in, or mixed in for texture to almost any recipe, and the bland flavor of the seeds won’t impact the overall taste of the meal. Our advice to you is always keep a floss stick nearby since these tiny seeds always manage to get wedged in between your teeth, but we can’t stop-won’t stop using them in our recipes for all the health benefits they yield. They are a superfood, meaning they pack a ton of health benefits, and the more we can incorporate a superfood into our meal, the better!

Collagen Coffee Protein Shake

Full disclosure: while we have been buying collagen for months, we have been slacking on our daily intake. We knew about the collagen crave from Instagram and social media initially, with the Vital Proteins brand littering our favorite blog sites and blowing up our targeted ads. Personally, we did not see a dramatic difference over time to justify the high price tag of the peptides and have been sprinkling them into our daily smoothies far less frequently. However, that does not mean that you will not notice a difference, and there are many great perks to note from this flavorless, powder mix-in.

Roasted Beet Hummus

Are we the only ones who associate beets with The Office every single time? Dwight K. Schrute was really onto something with the beet farm. Beets can brighten up a dish with a splash of color, and while Christina is not a big beet fan, I cannot get enough of them! The earthy flavor reminds us of summertime and we were pretty surprised at the seemingly limitless positive side effects that beets seem to offer.

Peanut Butter S’mores Cookie Bars

This blog post is a bit of a directional shift for A Healthy Hint. We are not offering healthy hints in this post, because we instead want to share something that makes us simply happy. Sure, we love eating healthy and find comfort in our eating routine, but sometimes we recognize that balance is a very important part of this health journey. That said, we bring to you: Peanut Butter S’mores Cookie Bars. Continue reading

Cinnamon Crumble Pumpkin Bread

PSLs, scarves, and the changing of leaves. We are internally screaming because FALL IS FINALLY HERE. Can we get a cyber “WOOO?!” As Phoenix residents, this time of year is slightly less joyous as our fall season consists of short shorts and 90-degree days. We are still faking it though and rejoicing in all things pumpkin, while watching Hocus Pocus over and over again. It’s only right that we kick off the season with a pumpkin recipe. It is so hard to pick just one, but this was a personal favorite and the perfect treat to kick off autumn.

Green Chili Quiche with Sweet Potato Crust

Here’s a fun dating tip: next time you are on a first date, ask them what their favorite type of French fry is. If they do not say sweet potato, they are a psychopath, and you should get out of there immediately. Sweet potatoes are one of our favorite carb sources, considering there is no bad way to prepare them. Whether it is extra crispy and diced up with a few eggs for breakfast, coated in salt in fry form with a juicy burger, or a simple baked sweet potato with a dollop of butter on its own, this ingredient is always so damn good.

Thai Chicken Zoodle Salad

In 2016, we discovered a beautiful little invention called the Spiralizer, and thus our love for zucchini was born. We went a little nuts creating pasta recipes with spiralized zucchini, or zoodles, instead of noodles. Nowadays, you can find pre spiralized vegetables everywhere, but the zucchini noodles are still our day one ride or die- and as a little knowledge bomb for you- they are actually a fruit instead of a veggie, botanically. They can be cooked or eaten raw, giving your dish great texture and color. Beyond that, they are full of health benefits while still keeping your meal interesting.
